Change the Narrative Project

Bridge Builders to the New Generation’s Change the Narrative program provides comprehensive youth development services that support students academically, socially, and emotionally. Through social-emotional learning, restorative justice practices, mentorship, academic support, and college and career readiness programming, the initiative works directly with students to help them develop leadership skills, strengthen their sense of identity, and build positive relationships within their school community.

The foundation of the Change the Narrative project centers on empowering students to recognize their voice, potential, and purpose. By providing mentorship, guidance, and exposure to leadership and real-world opportunities, the program helps students build confidence, resilience, and a vision for their future. Our goal is to ensure that students feel seen, heard, and supported while developing the skills necessary to succeed in school, in their communities, and in life.

Through culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches, Change the Narrative disrupts negative pathways and helps students rewrite their own stories—encouraging them to strive, thrive, and lead while expanding their opportunities for success.
